The Outdoor GreatRoom Company Fires Up The Summer Season With Gas Fire Pits

Outdoor rooms are on the rise, according to a study done by Transparency Market Research. People are still in staycation mode, spending more leisure time at home and investing in their own outdoor getaway experience.

Part of that experience is cozying up to a warm fire under the stars. Investing in a gas fire pit is an easy, safe and reliable way to do just that.

The Outdoor GreatRoom Company, manufacturers of unique, upscale products for indoor and outdoor living spaces, recently launched their 2013 collection of fire pits with ten unique styles designed to suit any space, small or large. If you’re looking to spark up your outdoor room, take note that the benefits of gas fire pits go beyond their user friendly reputation.

“As opposed to a wood burning fire pit, gas fire pits do not give off smoke, which can be toxic and cause environmental and health issues,” said Hilary Mays of The Outdoor GreatRoom Company. “Gas fire pits are generally easier to use, maintain, and safer than a wood-burning fire pit. They also produce a much hotter flame, resulting in a more functional heat source.”

Gas fire pits are easily customizable, easy to install and can be hooked up to a portable gas tank or natural gas line, making these fire pits eco-friendly.

To make your gas fire pit even more environmentally sustainable, use tempered glass beads as the material on top of the burner for a cleaner burn. However, it's important to use the recommended amount. If you pile up the material, it will likely cause soot to occur and make ignition difficult.

When searching for a gas fire pit, there are several important features to look for. Make sure that the fire pit is UL Listed and safety tested to ensure that the burner will light properly, burn cleanly and be safe to operate, explains Dan Shimek, founder of the Outdoor GreatRoom Company. It's also better to invest in a gas fire pit that has a high-grade stainless steel burner to maximize longevity and minimize rust, and that burner should be a recessed or sunken to help protect the fire from wind and protecting you with a safer distance from the fire.
